Hi All

We have not had the best weather for snowmobiling as of late. We had some warm days and some rain last weekend. This week it has froze back up and we have had 2 to 3 inches of new snow on top to whiten everything up. It has also beenl snowing on and off all day today as well.. In the woods right now we still have 6" to 8" of base with the new stuff on top. The trails are ride-able again but not brag-able till we get more snow.. Off the groomed trails is where it is at ! Old logging roads, forest trail have the best snow hands down..

Ice fishing has been up and down freezing and thawing makes the ice crack and pop loudly under water along with barometer going up and down. We still manage to catch enought to clean but were not slaying them by any means..

Hi All

We'll we made it to another year.. The snow has been hanging on pretty well. We only had one brief warm up before the Christmas holiday and we had some rain too. It melted off not quite half of what we had early December but that still left us around 10" to 12 " in the woods. Over the week between Christmas & the New Year Holiday weekend we had flurries and light accumulations each day keeping the trails fresh looking and adding to the ride ability of the trails. It was good timing you need fresh snow even in little amounts just to keep up with the heavy use over a busy weekend..

I have been doing alot of fishing as well. The ice is safe to fish on in most lakes. It isn't much more than 5" on the thickest lakes around the average is 3" to 5".. The fishing has been good to great for about the last 3 weeks. I have already had a few limits and some nice buckets of pan fish and started having fish fries..The ice could be a little thicker before I would recommend riding on them. I like a good 6 " to 8 " before I like to park a heavy quad or sled on the ice for long periods of time. That way even a thin spot is safe at 4" to 5". I have also been putting some time on the river here as well. Plugging and fly fishing have been getting some good winter Steelhead and Trout on the Pere Marquette and the Manistee rivers.

Trails are in great shape and so is the fishing..We have rooms open , the hot tub is running , a warm fire and co-co is waiting in our lodge room for you..

Happy New Year
