Hi All
We did receive some snow over the weekend. Most of the new 3 " fell as everyone drove home on Sunday. Trail conditions were O.K. over the weekend. " I've rode on much worse " were some comments I heard from guests. The groomers are out as we speak using the new snow to help smooth out the trails. We also received some snow on Monday.. My Tape measure says 8"- 10" on the ground here at the lodge. I was over at my old cabin by Big Star lake over the weekend getting the sleds out for the season. There is a little more snow over there as usual.
My son Adam got to ride his X- Mas sled around in a big field. He did very well riding on his own for the first time. I laid out a track for him to follow. Kicked around a few stumps to show him what to look for and what not to hit. All was good till a mouse nest broke us down for a while (Luckily I didn't smoke a piston). I just got the sled and didn't check the air box. Where I store my machines I've never had even a sign of a mouse ( pretty impressive for a garage up north).
Ice fishing has been a little slow and ice a little shaky still on some lakes. I have heard of a few ice swimmers stories. I haven't stepped foot on the ice yet. I will fix that this week for sure. Some guys have been getting some good catches from what I've heard. A good friend of mine and a exceptional fisherman hasn't got into them good yet. He won't quit trying either until he gets 'em. He's been getting a few here and there be nothing to impressive yet.
Will report soon if more snow hits us this week.

Please keep in mind that Lake County has 156 lakes. We will update you on the ice fishing when the lakes become safe to fish on.
