Winter/Snowmobiling Report

January 22, 2008

Hi All

The snow is back just in time for the weekend. This past weekend we had a few riders up to enjoy the 6"- 8" of base. Over the course of the weekend we had light lake effect snow equaling about an inch each day. Last night we put 4 " of new snow on the base for a total of 10" - 12 " on the ground. Last weekend we had very cold temps. I think it kept a few people home. This weekend coming up is forecasted to be in the mid 20's for the over night and low 30's during the day. This snow will pack and settle a bit if it gets warmer.

For now it is light and fluffy and all the trails are groomed. If you have time to ride during the week days they are the best ( low traffic and fresh groomed trails with new snow on them). If you need a room for the weekend, call soon I only have a few rooms and the cabin left. 3 of the rooms are closed due to remodeling carpet, paint and ceramic tile floors for rooms #5 and # 7 with room #2 storing all the furniture from 5 and 7.

Ice is rebuilding and I will be going out today for the first time since the melt off. The last day I was out was 1-7-08. That was the end of the ice. On the 11th. it got cold and started the rebuilding process. I heard of people back out on the thin ice by the 16th. up here. After this cold weekend most ice should be good. Still hear reports of open water in the center of some lakes. So bring your spud and check the ice.

Be Safe & Enjoy Winter
