Hi All

The water has been back in it's banks in the upper river for a few days now and has warmed up nicely with a stain. In the lower river it should be back in it's banks around Thursday or Friday. The water was warm down there today to about  43 deg. at 11 A.M.. The fish had all 5 gears back. They were hitting hard today. I think it is safe to say GAME - ON. I put up very good #'s the last 3 trips without even spending a lot of time on the water either.

I have heard of good reports from the upper end. A bunch of winter run fish are getting there work done and getting out of here. The spring run fish are staging up in the holes and need a little time for the eggs to mature before joining the party. The water is in great condition for Steelhead fishing at the moment. We are getting a great break in the weather. This weekend was a busy one around here on the river. The weekdays again are low to moderate pressure.

3/18 We wacked um. John Robinson and I fished the lower end . A solid half day scouting mission. Overcast and warm water. The best river conditions of the spring so far.

3/16  John R. and I again scouting lower end. We had a good # of hits but it was bright and sunny and they were nippy strikes and none to the net.

3/15 Family Day on Sunday.  We (my wife, son and I) fished lower river for a hour and went 1 for 3. My son Adam landed his first river Steelhead. He had landed a few out on the big lake before. Then we packed up and went to the movies. Then Mc Donalds for dinner and then home bound. A busy afternoon.

3/14  A couple guys had a hard time this weekend at the road going back to Sulack. Buried to the frame they were. I found a couple nice young men with a jacked up 4 X 4 mud all over the hood. I knocked on the door and asked them if they were interested in helping out a couple stuck fishermen. They jumped at the chance and saved the day. It was kinda fun to watch from my angle. Someone opened up the Wahalla Road access sometime on Monday. So we are close to having all our access sites open for the spring run.

3 / 14th. and 17th. were office days. Except for going to the truck pulls on Saturday at Sulack.

That is all for now. We still have opening for rooms and guided trips in March and April. I would have loved to have had a couple clients enjoying the good fishing from Saturday thru today. Oh well that is the way it is. Should have been here yesterday.. Good luck with the steelhead season it is in full swing for the next 6 weeks.

Check out our new webcam.
