There are few things I like better than escorting individuals down the river to catch the fish of a lifetime. The rewards I experience from river guiding are two fold.  First, is assisting a fly-fisherman and educating them about all facets of fly-fishing.  Second, is to supply them the best opportunity at a trophy fish while providing a great and safe experience on the river. My love for the Pere Marquette River started in 1991. I now have the privilege to own and operate the Red Moose Lodge and C.A. Guide Service.

I started in this business in 2003 with the support of my wife Debi and son Adam and haven't had one regret. I left Wallside Windows after working17 year as a subcontractor for them. The Detroit area couldn't keep me happy anymore. I never would have guessed I' d be here when I was a young man visiting Baldwin for my first time. I have been coming up to the Baldwin area since 1985 and have a vast knowledge of the snowmobile/ motorcycle trails, hunting, and fishing for anything that swims. Included with my knowledge of the Pere Marquette River from M-37 to Lake Michigan, I also have experience and guide on the Manistee, Muskegon and White rivers as well. I'm a Orvis Endorced Flyfishing Guide, have all State and Federal licence's to guide those rivers, insured, and certified in First Aid/ CPR. I also have held a seat on the board of directors for the Michigan River Guides Association for 3 years.  Book a trip and let's spend some time on the water. I would love to show you a great day on the river.

Sincerely

Clint Anderson

Fishing

All gear, tackle and transportation will be provided. Here at C.A. Guide Service we offer fishing trips for Steelhead, Salmon, Rainbow, Brown and Brook Trout, Pike, Walleye and Bass. Although I am mostly a fly fishing guide for Steelhead, Trout and Salmon. I also offer spin trips for those not wishing to flyfish details below.

Flyfishing- we use all methods including, Nymphing for Steelhead,Trout and Salmon. Dry flies for Trout. I especially like Streamer fishing for BIG BROWNS when we have some color to the water or high water. I also like to night time fish for Trout during the Hex Hatch and Mousing in the late summer months. I'm proud to be a Orvis Endorsed Fly Fishing Guide and use all Orvis rods, reels, waders etc. on our trips.

I specialize in the Fall fishing for Salmon/ Pike with spin gear. It is my favorite way to catch a Salmon. They Smash Them Lures and try to rip the rod out of your hand. August 15th through October 7th are good dates for these method.

Hotshotting or Backdropping plugs for Steelhead is another way I offer for those not wishing to flyfish for Steelhead. This is a very laid back way to fish for them and very effective. October 15th through March 30th are good dates for these method.

All Spring or Summer is also good for light spin tackle for Trout with small spinners and small plugs. For those not wishing to flyfish.

There are two different boats to fish from. The first is a 16' 2008 Clacka Craft (McKenzie style drift boat). It is a safe, comfortable and durable river boat and a first class ride down the river. The second is a18 ft. 2008 Power Drifter with a 65 HP Jet.The power drifter is well equipped for both flyfishing or hotshotting plugs. It is also a very safe and nice boat to fish from.

You will want to come prepared with waders, polarized sunglasses, rain coat, camera, sunscreen, hat and gloves.  Most importantly, dress appropriately for current weather conditions. Although provided, you may also bring your own equipment, gear, lures, beverages and snacks.

Lunch or dinner is also provided.  The menu will be decided
either on the day your trip is booked or sometime before your
scheduled trip. Please be sure to let us know of any dietary restrictions or food allergies.
